Fern Ridge Library is the jewel in our community!

Each year the Fern Ridge Library Foundation works with the library staff members and Board to identify projects to improve the library. Projects are diverse and varied and respond to the needs of our growing community. The Foundation is proud to support avid readers and learners with new books, DVDs, and educational videos.  We seek to improve technology and access to the internet while tackling behind-the-scenes projects like the HVAC system replacement, new energy efficient windows, new carpeting, and remodeling and construction for the Fern Ridge Library. Gifts to the Foundation are used to support these improvements each year so no tax dollars will be needed. Make your gift today!

Contribute to the Endowment Fund

The Fern Ridge Library Foundation Endowment Fund is a permanent fund established to support the library’s needs. Our endowment fund is invested for stable growth and investment return by the highly respected Oregon Community Foundation.

With outright gifts, bequests, planned gifts, and memorial donations, the endowment fund can become an even more vital partner in keeping the Fern Ridge Library healthy and strong as it serves this community.

We invest all gifts and bequest donations made to the endowment fund and use the annual distribution to support the library’s needs. Your gift lasts forever. Thank you for your support.

The nice thing about donations to the fund is that they are never spent! Only the investment earnings are used. Consequently, a donation to the fund will support the Library forever.

Adopt a Shelf

Place your name or the name of someone you love on a book shelf in the Fern Ridge Library!

Want to find your name on a permanent book shelf tag in the library? You can Adopt a Shelf. You won’t need to feed or water it, but your shelf tag lets everyone know you are a fan of the Fern Ridge Library.

The Foundation’s Adopt a Shelf program began in 2008. It provides an opportunity for donors to dedicate one of the library’s many shelves to honor a friend or family member or to provide a small memorial to someone. Each tag is inscribed with 2 lines of text. The first line includes these options: “supported by,” “in honor of,” and “in memory of.” The second line is your dedication, not to exceed 25 characters. Shelves are also “adopted” by Community Partner businesses as part of their donation and in recognition of their leadership. Tags can be purchased by businesses for $100. For individuals, a tag may be purchased with their gift of $50 or more to the annual fundraising campaign. The library staff determines the location and rotation of shelves.

Shelf tags are ordered quarterly and placed by Foundation volunteers. An inventory is maintained to record all tags purchased and location. You may ask the staff to assist you in locating your sponsored tags.
